It will cost you everything to be His Disciple

Luke14:25 Now great crowds accompanied him, and he turned and said to them, [26] “If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. (a lesser love)[27] Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. (Self denial, a willingness to obey, serve one another and   suffer-perhaps even die-for his sake, hating one’s own life)[28] For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and (count the cost,) whether he has enough to complete it? [29] Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, [30] saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.' (Only those willing  to carefully assess the cost and invest all they have in His Kingdom were worthy to enter.)

Mark 8:38 If whoever Is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels. (those who reject the demands of discipleship prove themselves to be ashamed of Jesus Christ and the truth He taught thus not redeemed from sin at all)

Matthew 7:13 Enter through the narrow gate; (Christ continually emphasized the difficulty of following Him. Salvation is by Grace, but it is not easy. It calls for knowledge of the truth, repentance, submission to Christ as LORD and a willingness to obey His will and word)

(Mt. 7:19).Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire

John 4:35 You know the saying, 'Four months between planting and harvest.' But I say, wake up and look around. The fields are already ripe* for harvest 36:The harvesters are paid good wages, and the fruit they harvest is people brought to eternal life. What joy awaits both the planter and the harvester alike!37:You know the saying, 'One plants and another harvests.' And it's true.38:I sent you to harvest where you didn't plant; others had already done the work, and now you will get to gather the harvest."

Counting  the cost

The Cost of Following Jesus
Matthew: 18, when Jesus noticed how large the crowd was growing, he instructed his disciples to cross to the other side of the lake.
19 Then one of the teachers of religious law said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you no matter where you go!”
20 But Jesus said, “Foxes have dens to live in, and birds have nests, but I, the Son of Man, have no home of my own, not even a place to lay my head.”
21 Another of his disciples said, “Lord, first let me return home and bury my father.”
22 but Jesus told him, “Follow me now! Let those who are spiritually dead care for their own dead.”

Acknowledge Me
Matthew 10: 32 “If anyone acknowledges me publicly here on earth, I will openly acknowledge that person before my Father in heaven. 33 But if anyone denies me here on earth, I will deny that person before my Father in heaven.

34 “Don’t imagine that I came to bring peace to the earth! No, I came to bring a sword. 35 I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 Your enemies will be right in your own household! 37 If you love your father or mother more than you love me, you are not
worthy of being mine; or if you love your son or daughter more than me, you are not worthy of being mine. 38 If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine. 39 If you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give it up for me, you will find it.

Mark 13:9
9“But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought b before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. 10And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. 11But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate c what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. 12Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. 13And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.
